| ***To begin a senior honors
thesis, a student must have an overall grade point average of
at least 3.2. The scholar conducts a research or creative project,
under faculty guidance, which results in an honors thesis. The
thesis is defended before a faculty committee, and successful
candidates are recommended for graduation with honors. The additional
accolade of graduation "with highest honors" indicates the exceptionally
accomplished student and a thesis that exemplifies the highest
possible level of undergraduate scholarship. Not every department
recommends a candidate for "highest honors" each year. |
