A Summer Enrichment Story
Morehead Alumni play crucial role as Morehead-Cain Scholars plan their summer experiences — sometimes with amazing and unexpected results.

When Casey Oakley '07 began planning her enterprise summer, she experienced firsthand the remarkable network and support that the Morehead Alumni provide. When one door closed, another was opened, with the help of Morehead Alumna Kristin Breuss '90. Casey reflects on her experience:
"When I set out to plan my enterprise summer, one company stood out in my mind — Goldman Sachs. I did not know exactly where to begin in my endeavor to intern with such a reputable company, so I turned to the Morehead Alumni network. After learning about my aspirations, Kristin Breuss, a Morehead Alumna and Goldman Sachs Human Capital Management executive in London, was more than willing to help me with my summer plans."
At first Kristin hoped to place Casey in the London office, where she had placed several Morehead interns in the past. When Kristin learned that the London office had already met its quota of work permits and was unable to take on another international intern, and at the same time discovered that Casey is fluent in French, she sent Casey's résumé to another Goldman Sachs office and followed up with a few phone calls. Casey became the first Morehead intern with the Paris office of Goldman Sachs — a foot in the door that Casey acknowledges would not have been a remote possibility without the assistance of Kristin Breuss.
"Thanks to Kristin's help and encouragement, I am currently interning with Goldman Sachs in Paris, France. Just as I have told Kristin and so many others, this experience has truly shown me the power of the Alumni network! With my enterprise summer underway and graduation just around the corner, I now look forward to the day when I will be in a place to return the favor as part of the vast and invaluable Morehead Alumni network."
